With a polished design and pleasant interface, you can upload pictures, videos, music, documents, whatever, instantly, from anywhere, thanks to FileSocial for Android.

We’ve been working hard the last few months to improve the service, wanting to satisfy one of the requests most commonly made by you: the possibility of uploading files to FileSocial from your mobile phones.

We’re very happy with the result and are convinced that this will be a new advance toward making FileSocial a more complete, attractive and better service.

FileSocial is already available through iPhone. Will you help us take FileSocial even further?

When we launched FileSocial, many software developers were intrigued with the service. We believe it can be useful in many other ways aside from the web, such as for uploading files from a mobile, integrating it with other Twitter applications, etc. That’s why we shared the public API, so that anyone who wants to play around with FileSocial and help us develop improvements or additions to it would have a simple tool available to them.

For those of you that have an iPhone and need to upload pictures, videos and audio to FileSocial, now it’s easy. Chunky Chicken Apps launched Tweet Media, which allows for uploading files to Twitter from iPhone now includes FileSocial! It’s as straightforward as taking a picture, recording a video or audio or selecting one from a library and it will automatically be published in FileSocial and Twitter.

To configure Tweet Media for automatic uploading of your files to FileSocial, just go to “iPhone settings”, search for “Tweet Media” preferences, and select FileSocial as the service for each category.  It’s really simple!

Taking a huge leap forward, we’ve integrated document displays and audio and video players into the website. This way it won’t be necessary to download files to see or hear them.

At the moment, supported formats include:

We’re working toward making possible the direct display of more formats in FileSocial without needing to download files so as to offer all our users greater convenience and security.

Changes are obvious from the very beginning. The Uploader has been completely redesigned – something we believe brings it even closer to the elegance of a service like FileSocial. But, that’s not all. We’ve also improved the user’s experience, making the Uploader even more intuitive and simple to use

As we commented on the day it was launched , FileSocial Uploader was initially a preliminary beta version. Since then we’ve continued working on it to make improvements, and today – less than a month later – we want to present the new version.

FileSocial Uploader is a desktop application based on Adobe Air that’s going to make your lives a little easier. Well, maybe not your life in general, but surely exchanging files through Twitter is going to seem much more simple and straightforward. Now it’s as easy as dragging the file to be shared onto the Uploader and it will automatically upload to FileSocial. Fast, right?

It’s still a preliminary, beta version, but we’ve wanted to launch it as soon as possible to see what you think about it: how it works, what needs improvement, what functions you miss the most… Tell us anything you come up with.

We wish to point out something you’ve been asking for practically since FileSocial’s first introduction. Our API has just been published Now any software developer can easily integrate FileSocial in one’s own service, or even create plugins, web applications, interactive widgets, etc. What’s more, if you’re familiar with the Twitpic API, it’ll be even simpler. The methodologies are quite similar.

And, the innovations don’t end here. In the next few days we’re going to surprise you with a FileSocial Desktop Uploader. This application will allow you to upload files directly from your desktop by simply dragging the file you want on to the Uploader. Easy, right?

FileSocial is a service based on Twitter, born of the need to share other kinds of files besides photos. TwitPic is one of the most popular services, but falls short the moment we want to share a song, a video, a pdf… Alberto Bajo’s restless mind started to ruminate on this and in next to no time the concept started to take shape, setting in motion the cogwheels of our “team machine”. Now, we are pleased to present FileSocial Beta.

FileSocial allows you to share any kind of file, in any format, using your Twitter account. It doesn’t matter if its a doc, xls, flv, avi, zip or a totally unknown format – upload it and automatically (if you want) a “tweet” will be posted on your account with the comment or description you choose and a permanent link to the file, where all users can view, download or comment on your post. The comments you write or receive in any FileSocial file will be posted as @reply in Twitter. It’s as easy as that!

Why an application based on Twitter? Ever since we started we have been itching to mess around with its API and develop something related to the microblogging tool that the whole Ideateca team (not forgetting the few million others out there as well) uses daily.
